MTC is a technical school that helps people just like you learn marketable career skills. We provide Diploma programs in the Business and Healthcare fields along with an array of Continuing Education courses in: English as a second language (ESL), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Boot Camps in Toefl iBT, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and individual Microsoft courses.
Purpose
Meridian Technical Center was formed to provide business and medical technology training to individuals seeking employment in hospitals, medical centers, and offices where business or medical technology skills are required. It is the goal of Meridian Technical Center to offer programs with a focus on real-work experience, training and employment skills preparation. Meridian Technical Center is committed to reviewing this purpose at its annual meeting to determine what additional training programs and student services are needed to meet the demands of the community.
Educational Philosophy
The educational philosophy of Meridian Technical Center is to create programs where students have the opportunity to practice their knowledge and skills in the workplace through intern- and externships prior to graduation. Additionally, there is emphasis on employment skills training so that graduates are successful during the job search process.
History
In 2003, the Valentino’s opened a private school for parents seeking a small and personal training environment for their children in grades six through twelve. Because the school is very successful and students and their parents request that training programs are offered on the post-secondary level, Meridian Technical Center was opened. Because of the number of medical centers in the area and the focus on electronic medical records, it was decided to open a career school focusing on computer and medical technology.
